Co-Parenting Plans, Divorce & Separation

Co-Parenting Plans are a special service available to parents, attorneys, counselors, and other professionals, including the courts, working with parents. Co-Parenting plans are for parents who are together or not - who desire to raise their children in a cooperative, coordinated way. A Co-Parenting Plan is a detailed description of how this will be done.

A Co-Parenting Plan may cover:

  • Custody and shared time
  • Extended family time
  • Relocation
  • Information exchange
  • Travel and holiday time
  • Spheres of decision-making
  • Communication between parents
  • Timeliness and boundaries

Divorce and Legal Separation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) services are also available. In a mediated problem-solving and decision-making setting, participants work through such matters as housing, budgeting, debt and property distribution, support, child rearing, personal privacy and de-coupling, extended family concerns, insurance, retirement, and other concerns.

Co-Parenting Plans can become part of the mediated MOU, or a section in an attorney-generated Divorce or Separation agreement.  They can also serve as a stand-alone contract between parents.
